Advanced Cardiovascular Screening
Know Your Risk
We offer the newest tools and biomarkers
(Most tests are covered by insurance, except coronary calcium score)
Coronary Calcium Score
CAC is a special CT scan that can detect the presence of calcium, a marker of plaque build-up in the arteries that supply the heart. The score will help your doctor guide your preventive treatment.
Apolipoprotein B
ApoB has emerged as one of the most important factors that causes cholesterol plaque build-up in the arteries that supply the heart. It is more predictive of future risk of heart attack than traditional LDL cholesterol testing, especially in patients with diabetes and high triglycerides.
Lipoprotein Sizing
More accurate than conventional testing of bad LDL cholesterol, lipoprotein analysis gives the precise number of LDL particles and their size distribution, the smaller of which will predispose to more plaque buildup in the arteries.
Lipoprotein (a)
Lp(a) is now recognized as the most common genetic risk factor for cardiovascular disease but yet to be included in routine blood test screening.
High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein
hsCRP is a marker of inflammation that contributes to plaque formation and rupture — the process that leads to a heart attack and stroke.
Omega-3 Index
Low blood level of healthy omega-3 fatty acids have been established as a risk factor for heart disease which can be improved by supplementation.
Trimethylamine Oxide
TMAO is a new risk factor for cardiovascular disease related to poor gut health and diet. Probiotics and Mediterranean diet may help mitigate this condition.
Homocysteine
High levels of homocysteine promotes excessive blood clotting which can be counteracted with B vitamins.
